Unplug and Plug In: Day 4

February 20th, 2010 by Thalia Kehoe Rowden

It’s day 4 of our collective fasting from screen-based entertainment.  How’s it going at your place?

So far Matt and I have taught each other our childhood card games (it’s all part of cross-cultural understanding) and gone to the high energy Hospice fundraiser, Grease (more about the unsuitability of this adult musical for children later, perhaps…).

Hester and I went to an amazing chamber music concert at St Mary’s on Wednesday and I’ve spent two evenings with friends, making pizza (or watching others make it, if I’m honest), sitting around talking smack, being entertained by good conversation with people I like.  Who needs youtube?

One of our Books in the Jar at West this year is Everyday Justice, by Julie Clawson, who has also written this reflection on why she isn’t giving anything up for Lent. In the time you’re not watching Who Wants To Be A Leprechaun, feel free to have a look at that and/or Matthew 5:1-12, which we’re looking at tomorrow morning at West.

See you tomorrow!
