Where we live

'West' is located in the suburb of Spotswood on the western side of New Plymouth, in Taranaki, New Zealand.

New Plymouth is a city of about 60,000 people. On one side is the coast with a port and the Tasman Sea. The West Coast of New Zealand is known for it's huge seas and great surfing beaches. The coastline has several great surfing breaks and draws surfers from all over the world.

On the other side of the city is Mt Taranaki, with it’s snow covered peak, reaching about 8000 feet into the sky. If you're keen, it’s possible to ski and surf within the hour. Taranaki is a major dairying centre, boasting the southern hemisphere's largest dairy factory. It’s also the centre of New Zealand’s oil and gas industry with several offshore and onshore wells.
