Serving Others
One of the things we want to do as followers
of Jesus is to serve each other and also our community.
Below is a list of ways we can serve each other. To see

Pastoral Care Ministries
Visitation and Hospital Care
Provide support and encouragement to people
who are unable to regularly attend a small group, family
group or worship gathering.
Family Groups
Provide leadership by facilitating activities
which help build community and help us connect with each
other. There is also a place for co-leaders to help with
groups. For a fuller explanation go here.
Assimilation
Help integrate new people into our life
together. Act as a host for newcomers lunches etc.
Christian Education Ministries
Kidz Connection Ministry Team
This is an opportunity to help children
learn about Jesus and his love for them. Lead a small
group, help with set up and clean up.
Get Real Ministry
Our ministry team offers relevant programmes
and events that connect students into relationships with
Christ and one another. Help create an event, build relationships,
be a builder of dreams
Mentoring Ministry
It's about impact. It's about passion.
It's about life. It's about knowing God. Be a big person
in a young persons life who they know they is interested
in them as a person. Come shape the future.
Small Group Ministry
Real life change occurs in small groups,
and every group needs a leader, many need apprentices… leaders
in training. Step out and be part of this ministry by
apprenticing in a small group.
Library Ministry
Help look after a range of books which
are available for people to borrow. Requires someone
willing to care for and ensure the return of books.
Prayer Ministries
Prayer Chain
Join a group of people who pray for people
as needs are made known.
Prayer on a Sunday Morning
Join a group of people who pray for us
as we gather to worship. Meets 9.30am in side chapel.
Worship Ministries
Welcomers
A smiling face, a warm handshake, and a
friendly greeting make people feel welcome and provide
a quick information reference for first time guests.
Music Team
Encourage worship through the use of music.
Requires people who can sing or play a musical instrument.
Also people who are willing to prepare word sheets, OHT's
and recording of copyright information.
Sound and Video Team
The sound people are responsible for ensuring
that people can hear clearly what is happening and record
the worship for those who were unable to attend. The
video team are responsible for helping with the provision
of PowerPoint's, video feeds, use of OHP etc during worship
gatherings.
Creative Communication Team
These people provide us with puppets,
dramas and other means of creatively communicating the
gospel.
Morning Tea Roster
At West we all get to take a turn serving
others by helping serve tea and coffee following our
worship gathering. Feel free to add your name if it isn't
on the roster.
Facilities Ministries
Cleaning Roster
Like the morning tea roster you get to
help serve by keeping our facilities spick and span.
Feel free to add your name to the roster. There is always
room for one more on this list.
Facility Care Team
This is the "behind the scenes crew." Painting,
cleaning, fixing, and building projects are just some
of the things to be done around the building. Flexible
hours all during the week available to fit your schedule.
Requires someone to keep a booking schedule on the use
of the facilities by both church groups and outside groups
who want to use our premises.
Grounds and Gardens
Someone with 'green fingers' to help care
for our gardens and lawns and keep the exterior property
tidy.
Helping Ministries
KR WEST
There are many people who get lost in the
financial jungle and need someone to help them find their
way out of debt. Budget advisers are able to help people
get themselves back on track.
Food Parcels
Here's something anyone can do - bring
along grocery items that can be shared with families
who are in need.
Parenting toolbox Ministry
This is a homegrown New Zealand based parenting
skills programme that is highly effective in helping
parents. Be part of a team who desire to strengthen and
encourage parents and families. People required to act
as hosts or facilitators.
Administrative Ministries
Nurture
Involves the organisation and oversight
of helping people grow to be more like Jesus. Areas that
fall under this are small groups, and the discipleship
of new Christians.
Service
Involves the organisation and oversight
of our serving ministries, primarily KR West, our food
parcels and the parenting Tool Box ministry.
Mission
Involves the organisation and oversight
of our mission activities. Primarily the encouragement
of people to take an interest in missions both local
and overseas.
Newsletter
Help with the production of our monthly
information sheet to keep people informed of what is
happening in the life of our church.
Office Skills
People willing to help with general office
duties - typing, filing etc. On a as required basis.
